The Catholic Case for Hillary Clinton’s Admonishment

By Catholics for America

INTRODUCTION

We need a president of the United States who embraces and is receptive to Catholic values and doctrines. There is a candidate running for president who holds positions contrary to these values and doctrines. We will address ten issues that are both political and moral, dominating current events in the U.S. that are addressed in Catholic Doctrine. These issues are below, ordered numerically in context of the Ten Commandments as presented and addressed in the Catechism of the Catholic Church that is attested to by Sacred Scripture, the Apostolic Tradition and the Church’s Magisterium:

1. ObamaCare
2. Racism and racist groups
3. Safe bathrooms
4. Immigration
5. The right to bear arms for self-defense
6. A “Just War” against ISIS at home and abroad
7. Abortion and Planned Parenthood’s selling of baby body parts
8. Sacrament of Marriage
9. Labor and the Poor
10. Lying about emailing classified information

It has become clear and it may be surprising to some, that Hillary Clinton is a candidate who does not embrace and is not receptive to Catholic values and doctrines on these issues. Unfortunately, Hillary Clinton ignores, opposes or is hostile to Catholic values and doctrines on these ten issues and others not yet addressed here. She claims, “I embrace an activist social justice faith,” but, ironically defies the true meaning of social justice by opposing its very definition; “respecting the human person and the rights which flow from human dignity and guarantee it.” She clothes her hostility for human dignity in its moral garment.

Because her views are contrary and even hostile to the Catholic Church, a Catholic conscience and Catholic persons, Hillary Clinton must be admonished, which is a Spiritual Work of Mercy, by Catholics in this election year of 2016. Especially, because 2016 is a Jubilee Year of Mercy.

THE CASE

The enumerated issues presented below in full are dominating the current interest and argument in the 2016 presidential election and are addressed in Catholic Doctrine. Hillary Clinton’s positions on these issues are inconsistent with Catholic Doctrine.

Mrs. Clinton’s inconsistency with Catholic Doctrine on these issues are of great importance. First, because the doctrines are true and second, because as far as this election is concerned, whoever wins the Catholic vote will win the presidential election. It is important to know that it is a historical fact in modern American history that the winner of the Catholic vote wins the presidency in almost every case.

Many Catholics vote with reflective and examined obedience to Catholic Doctrine because it is true, just and brings order to society. Many who identify as Catholics do not vote this way. A smaller percentage of Catholics pay little attention to politics but, will vote. They abhor attacks on their Church by politicians but, since they pay little attention to politics they must be informed of attacks on the Church by being called by name, “Catholics” to get their attention for them to act.

Please review each of the ten issues below. As stated in the introduction, these issues that are both political and moral, are ordered numerically in context of the Ten Commandments as presented and addressed in the Catechism of the Catholic Church that is attested to by Sacred Scripture, the Apostolic Tradition and the Church’s Magisterium.

1. ObamaCare
• Hillary Clinton opposes Catholic values and doctrines on Freedom of Conscience and Religious Freedom under ObamaCare by opposing the Little Sisters of the Poor and others rights who are being forced to violate their consciences by paying for services that end life and prevent the creation life.
• As president, Hillary Clinton will appoint a Supreme Court justice who will ultimately rule against the Sisters, forcing them to pay fines that will close their facilities that care for the elderly poor.
• Regarding ObamaCare, she said, “It is here to stay.”
• She promises to pass the so-called “Equality Act” (S. 1858 and H.R. 3185) that will explicitly remove the “Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993” as a claim against this law.

The source for the Catholic position on this issue is from the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) where it is written in context of Moral conscience (CCC 1782), participation in social life as it relates to the Common Good (CCC 1907) and the First Commandment – You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve:

CCC 1782 “Man has the right to act in conscience and in freedom so as personally to make moral decisions.” He must not be forced to act contrary to his conscience. Nor must he be prevented from acting according to his conscience, especially in religious matters.“”
CCC 1907 “First, the common good presupposes respect for the person as such. In the name of the common good, public authorities are bound to respect the fundamental and inalienable rights of the human person. Society should permit each of its members to fulfill his vocation. In particular, the common good resides in the conditions for the exercise of the natural freedoms indispensable for the development of the human vocation, such as “the right to act according to a sound norm of conscience and to safeguard . . . privacy, and rightful freedom also in matters of religion.“”
CCC 2108 “The right to religious liberty is neither a moral license to adhere to error, nor a supposed right to error, but rather a natural right of the human person to civil liberty, i.e., immunity, within just limits, from external constraint in religious matters by political authorities. This natural right ought to be acknowledged in the juridical order of society in such a way that it constitutes a civil right.”

2. Racism and racist groups
• Hillary Clinton opposes Catholic values and doctrines regarding racism by supporting the racism, hatred, criminality and anarchy of the so-called community organization named “Black Lives Matter.” This organization is not concerned with the lives and human dignity of black persons but, with making the crimes of anarchists not crimes at all.  Their protesters march in city streets chanting, “What do we want? Dead cops!  When do we want it?  Now,” and “Pigs in a blanket, fry ‘em like bacon.”  This is an incitement to violence, riots and possibly, murder of police officers.  They also claim they cannot be racist, which is idolatry.
• She said, “Yes, Black Lives Matter,” to show her support for this anti-Catholic hate group but, not for black persons and their human dignity.
• She idolizes the racist, Margaret Sanger who said, “We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.” Hillary Clinton said this about Margaret Sanger, “I admire Margaret Sanger enormously, her courage, her tenacity, her vision… I am really in awe of her.”
• She promises to pass the so-called “Equality Act” (S. 1858 and H.R. 3185) that will amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to equate gender identity with a black person’s race and human dignity. According to experts and scientists, only .6% of the population identify as a different gender than they were born.

The source for the Catholic position on this issue is from the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) where it is written in context of the First Commandment – You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve:

CCC 2113 “Idolatry not only refers to false pagan worship. It remains a constant temptation to faith. Idolatry consists in divinizing what is not God. Man commits idolatry whenever he honors and reveres a creature in place of God, whether this be gods or demons (for example, satanism), power, pleasure, race, ancestors, the state, money, etc. Jesus says, “You cannot serve God and mammon.” Many martyrs died for not adoring “the Beast” refusing even to simulate such worship. Idolatry rejects the unique Lordship of God; it is therefore incompatible with communion with God.”

3. Safe bathrooms
• Hillary Clinton opposes Catholic values and doctrines on the safe bathroom issue (which is also an issue of Freedom of Conscience and Religious Freedom) by promising to pass the so-called “Equality Act” if elected president. In making this promise, she guarantees to violate the conscious, freedom and privacy of persons intruded upon in bathrooms by persons of the opposite sex. The “Equality Act” will allow persons who identify as transgendered to use the bathroom of their choice but will give sexual predators an excuse to claim transgenderism without regard to the certain danger it will cause to the safety and privacy of others as defined in the “Equality Act.” (It should be noted that most persons with transgenderism move on from this identity according to experts.)
• The “Equality Act” (S. 1858 and H.R. 3185) is so broad that it would even allow, for instance, Hillary Clinton and her running mate Tim Kaine access to the bathroom of their choice without undergoing a surgical transition, just because they choose to identify as the opposite sex at that moment. This means any man or woman can enter a bathroom or locker room shower of the opposite sex and not face any penalty of law. This loophole will give non-transgendered sexual predators, federal protection just by claiming transgenderism in order to shower in a locker room next to and attack your son or daughter or husband or wife. Additionally, the so-called “Equality Act” explicitly removes the “Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993” as a defense to a claim against violations this Act causes if it becomes law.
• On her website she promises to support the “Equality Act” and President Obama’s illegal executive actions that cause dangerous bathroom safety privacy issues, “Hillary will work with Congress to pass the Equality Act, continue President Obama’s LGBT equality executive actions… “

The source for the Catholic position on this issue is from the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) where it is written in context of the First Commandment – You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve:

CCC 1782 “Man has the right to act in conscience and in freedom so as personally to make moral decisions.” He must not be forced to act contrary to his conscience. Nor must he be prevented from acting according to his conscience, especially in religious matters.“”
CCC 1907 “… In the name of the common good, public authorities are bound to respect the fundamental and inalienable rights of the human person… In particular, the common good resides in the conditions for the exercise of the natural freedoms indispensable for the development of the human vocation, such as “the right to act according to a sound norm of conscience and to safeguard … privacy, and rightful freedom also in matters of religion.“”
CCC 2108 “The right to religious liberty… a natural right of the human person to civil liberty… This natural right ought to be acknowledged in the juridical order of society in such a way that it constitutes a civil right.”
CCC 2113 “Man commits idolatry whenever he honors and reveres a creature in place of God… “

4. Immigration
• Hillary Clinton opposes Catholic values and doctrines on immigration by disregarding the fact that the United States does allow persons to immigrate to the extent we are able and that we have a right and duty to decide who comes into our country by vetting for terrorist and criminal affiliations that we set juridical conditions and that immigrants are obligated to respect our immigration laws which are just.
• On her website she states that she will, “Defend President Obama’s executive actions—known as DACA and DAPA…, “ that illegally circumvented Congress and endangered migrant children, enticing them to travel alone to the United States.
• On her website she states, “We should let families—regardless of immigration status—buy into the Affordable Care Act exchanges,” thus illegally and unjustly giving non-citizens and illegal immigrants ObamaCare.
• On her website it states, “Hillary will create a national Office of Immigrant Affairs, support affordable integration services through $15 million in new grant funding for community navigators and similar organizations… “ This promise to give millions of tax payer dollars to community navigators and similar organizations gives Saul Alinsky-styled organizations the millions to integrate immigrants. It gets worse. These Alinsky-styled organizations deliberately manipulate immigrants into membership in her party to build permanent power and create a larger base of voters because they are partisan to the Democratic Party.

The source for the Catholic position on this issue is from the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) where it is written in context of the Fourth Commandment – Honor your father and mother:

CCC 2241 “The more prosperous nations are obliged, to the extent they are able, to welcome the foreigner in search of the security and the means of livelihood which he cannot find in his country of origin. Public authorities should see to it that the natural right is respected that places a guest under the protection of those who receive him.”
“Political authorities, for the sake of the common good for which they are responsible, may make the exercise of the right to immigrate subject to various juridical conditions, especially with regard to the immigrants’ duties toward their country of adoption. Immigrants are obliged to respect with gratitude the material and spiritual heritage of the country that receives them, to obey its laws and to assist in carrying civic burdens.”

5. The right to bear arms for self-defense
• Hillary Clinton opposes Catholic values and doctrines on the right to own and use guns in self-defense.
• When asked if an individual’s right to bear arms is a Constitutional right she attempted to conceal her opposition by beginning her answer, “If it is a Constitutional right… “
• She also wants firearm manufacturers to be held liable for an individual who uses the product (gun) made by the firearm manufacturer to commit murder. This is as absurdly equivalent to wanting to hold an automobile manufacturer liable for an individual who uses the product (car) made by the automobile manufacturer to commit murder.

The source for the Catholic position on this issue is from the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) where it is written in context of the Fifth Commandment – You shall not kill:

CCC 2263 “The legitimate defense of persons and societies is not an exception to the prohibition against the murder of the innocent that constitutes intentional killing. ” The act of self-defense can have a double effect: the preservation of one’s own life; and the killing of the aggressor…. the one is intended, the other is not.“”
CCC 2264 “Love toward oneself remains a fundamental principle of morality. Therefore it is legitimate to insist on respect for one’s own right to life. Someone who defends his life is not guilty of murder even if he is forced to deal his aggressor a lethal blow:
“If a man in self-defense uses more than necessary violence, it will be unlawful: whereas if he repels force with moderation, his defense will be lawful…. Nor is it necessary for salvation that a man omit the act of moderate self-defense to avoid killing the other man, since one is bound to take more care of one’s own life than of another’s.”
CCC 2265 “Legitimate defense can be not only a right but a grave duty for one who is responsible for the lives of others. The defense of the common good requires that an unjust aggressor be rendered unable to cause harm. For this reason, those who legitimately hold authority also have the right to use arms to repel aggressors against the civil community entrusted to their responsibility.”

6. A “Just War” against ISIS at home and abroad
• Hillary Clinton opposes Catholic values and doctrines on fighting a “Just War” against ISIS by joining the Obama Administration in failing to see, for over two years, the eradication of Catholics, Orthodox, and others in Iraq and Syria by ISIS as a legitimate reason for a “Just War.” Thus leaving ISIS’s influence to grow throughout the world and now conduct attacks in the United States.
• She downplays the ISIS terrorist attacks in our country by injecting gun control into them. In a speech following the Orlando nightclub terrorist attack she said, “… it’s essential that we stop terrorists from getting the tools they need to carry out the attacks—and that is especially true when it comes to assault weapons like those used in Orlando and San Bernardino.”
• There are four conditions for a “just war.” All conditions have been met or can be achieved to fight ISIS because of their murders and destruction but, she ignores them at our peril.

The source for the Catholic position on this issue is from the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) where it is written in context of the Fifth Commandment – You shall not kill:

CCC 2309 “The strict conditions for legitimate defense by military force require rigorous consideration. The gravity of such a decision makes it subject to rigorous conditions of moral legitimacy. At one and the same time:
1- the damage inflicted by the aggressor on the nation or community of nations must be lasting, grave, and certain;
2- all other means of putting an end to it must have been shown to be impractical or ineffective;
3- there must be serious prospects of success;
4- the use of arms must not produce evils and disorders graver than the evil to be eliminated. The power of modern means of destruction weighs very heavily in evaluating this condition.
These are the traditional elements enumerated in what is called the “just war” doctrine.
The evaluation of these conditions for moral legitimacy belongs to the prudential judgment of those who have responsibility for the common good.”

7. Abortion and Planned Parenthood’s selling of baby body parts
• Hillary Clinton opposes Catholic values and doctrines by supporting Planned Parenthood’s failure to recognize the humanity of the unborn person by performing abortions and selling their body parts. They have still failed to acknowledge their illegal selling of baby body parts after their staffers admitted it on video (and going after the investigator who uncovered it) and their lying about providing mammograms in an effort to claim they offer a laudable service to women all while receiving government money.
• A Planned Parenthood staffer promised in regard to the illegal sale of baby body parts, “If we alter our process, and we are able to obtain intact fetal cadavers, we can make it part of the budget that any dissections are this, and splitting the specimens into different shipments is this. It’s all just a matter of line items.”
• In 2015 Planned Parenthood CEO, Cecile Richards said, “We do not have mammogram machines at our health centers and we’ve never stated that we did.” But, in 2011 she said if a bill to defund Planned Parenthood, “ever becomes law, millions of women in this country are going to lose their health care access… to basic family planning – you know, mammograms… “
• Hillary Clinton has received Planned Parenthood’s Margaret Sanger award.
• In a speech about many issues including abortion she said, “Religious beliefs… have to be changed!”

The source for the Catholic position on this issue is from the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) where it is written in context of the Fifth Commandment – You shall not kill:

CCC 2270 “Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception.”
“From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person – among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.”
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you.
My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately wrought in the depths of the earth.”

8. Sacrament of Marriage
• Hillary Clinton opposes Catholic values and doctrines on Marriage by supporting so-called same-sex marriage.
• She said, “… That’s why I support marriage for lesbian and gay couples. I support it personally and as a matter of policy and law, embedded in a broader effort to advance equality and opportunity for LGBT Americans…“  ‘To advance equality’ is her promise to pass the so-called “Equality Act” that will remove Religious Freedom protections for Catholics and others.

The source for the Catholic position on this issue is from the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) where it is written in context of the Sixth Commandment – You shall not commit adultery:

CCC 2360 “Sexuality is ordered to the conjugal love of man and woman. In marriage the physical intimacy of the spouses becomes a sign and pledge of spiritual communion. Marriage bonds between baptized persons are sanctified by the sacrament.”

9. Labor and the Poor
• Hillary Clinton opposes Catholic values and doctrines on a person’s right to work. She promises to put persons who have work and do work hard, out of work and thus promises to make them the Poor she supposedly champions. They will not be able to eat on their own initiative not because they will not work but, because she will not let them get the work required to feed themselves and their families. By promising to put persons into material poverty, she shows us her religious poverty.
• This is a form of oppressing the Poor and defrauding laborers of their wages. Oppression of the Poor and defrauding laborers of their wages are two of the four Sins crying out to Heaven for Vengeance.
• She said, “We’re gonna put a lot of coal miners… out of business.”

The source for the Catholic position on this issue is from the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) where it is written in context of the Seventh Commandment – You shall not steal:

CCC 2427 “Human work proceeds directly from persons created in the image of God and called to prolong the work of creation by subduing the earth, both with and for one another. Hence work is a duty: “If any one will not work, let him not eat.” Work honors the Creator’s gifts and the talents received from him. It can also be redemptive. By enduring the hardship of work in union with Jesus, the carpenter of Nazareth and the one crucified on Calvary, man collaborates in a certain fashion with the Son of God in his redemptive work. He shows himself to be a disciple of Christ by carrying the cross, daily, in the work he is called to accomplish. Work can be a means of sanctification and a way of animating earthly realities with the Spirit of Christ.”
CCC 2444 “Love for the poor is even one of the motives for the duty of working so as to “be able to give to those in need.” It extends not only to material poverty but also to the many forms of cultural and religious poverty.”

10. Lying about emailing classified information
• Hillary Clinton opposes Catholic values and doctrines by repeatedly lying about illegally sending classified national security information that was marked either top secret, secret or confidential at the time.
• She misused the media by constantly giving interviews where she denied sending or receiving classified material by email.
• She had the appearance of aid from the Obama Administration, in totalitarian state fashion, in evading prosecution.
• She said, “I did not send or receive any information that was marked classified at the time… “ However, FBI Director James Comey said, “… one hundred and ten emails in fifty two email chains have been determined by the owning agency to contain classified information at the time they were sent or received… “

The source for the Catholic position on this issue is from the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) where it is written in context of the Eighth Commandment – You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor:

CCC 2498 “”Civil authorities have particular responsibilities in this field because of the common good…. It is for the civil authority … to defend and safeguard a true and just freedom of information.” By promulgating laws and overseeing their application, public authorities should ensure that “public morality and social progress are not gravely endangered” through misuse of the media. Civil authorities should punish any violation of the rights of individuals to their reputation and privacy. They should give timely and reliable reports concerning the general good or respond to the well-founded concerns of the people. Nothing can justify recourse to disinformation for manipulating public opinion through the media. Interventions by public authority should avoid injuring the freedom of individuals or groups.”
CCC 2499 Moral judgment must condemn the plague of totalitarian states which systematically falsify the truth, exercise political control of opinion through the media, manipulate defendants and witnesses at public trials, and imagine that they secure their tyranny by strangling and repressing everything they consider “thought crimes.“”

CONCLUDING REMARKS

As you can see from the issue points and our application of the sourced information from the Catechism of the Catholic Church for each issue, Hillary Clinton is hostile to Catholic values and doctrines. Further, her claim of embracing social justice is false. Social justice, though grossly misunderstood as a term, is Catholic and requires the defense of all persons human dignity. She only uses the term for its moral garment to fool Catholics and to cover her hostility for Catholic doctrine’s defense of human dignity. She wears the garment to get into the flock, attacks it, pretends to re-define doctrine without authority and confuses and scatters the sheep.
